About the position

Gina Baran Interiors + Design is seeking a talented and driven Lead Interior Designer to join our team in Newburyport, MA. This position is pivotal in delivering exceptional design services to our full-service clients under the guidance of our Lead and Principal Designer, Gina Baran. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for interior design and a commitment to enhancing clients' lives through innovative design solutions. As a Lead Interior Designer, you will be involved in every phase of the client project lifecycle. This includes creating custom design boards, sourcing products and materials, and assisting with project installations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the design vision for each project, ensuring that the unique spaces you create reflect the clients' preferred styles while adhering to the latest trends and the GBID aesthetic. Effective communication is key, as you will need to relay all design-related details to the team and oversee the progress of each project site to ensure that our vision is realized. To provide the best experience for our clients, you will maintain ongoing communication regarding the design process, ensuring that their needs and expectations are met throughout the project. This role requires a blend of creativity, leadership, and strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously while fostering professional relationships with industry partners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop client project design vision with Gina
  • Engage with clients throughout the entire project about all design related items
  • Communicate any and all design details to client and build team, documented through email and our software systems
  • Take the client's style and give it the GBID aesthetic
  • Be creative, forward-thinking and push the design team to new concepts and styles that fit within the GBID look
  • Develop each project's inspiration, finishes and furniture selections and present to Gina
  • Delegate assignments to Design Assistants and review their work
  • Assist in presentation meetings to clients in studio or onsite
  • Lead job site meetings alongside Gina or alone if needed
  • Assist in managing client expectations with regular and clear communication to our Operations Manager
  • Prepare and manage each project installation with Gina or alone if needed
  • Train any new design team members and lead interns
  • Cultivate professional relationships with industry partners

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of residential interior design experience
  • Experience with full home furnishings and renovations
  • Knowledge of furnishings vendors and their design styles
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design (this may be overlooked based on experience)
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to follow through on all aspects of the job, from consult to install
  • Proficient in AutoCad (Chief Architect & Photoshop a plus)
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and experience consulting directly with clients
  • Confidence and skills to communicate ideas clearly to clients and the team
  • Ability to handle all aspects of a project from consult to install
  • Strong leadership ability and self-motivation
  • Ability to work as a team as well as individually
