About the position

The Lead Internal Communications Manager at Lumen is responsible for developing and implementing effective internal communication strategies that align with the company's goals and culture. This role involves crafting clear and compelling messages for diverse audiences, supporting leadership communication, and fostering employee engagement through various initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with company leaders to ensure brand consistency and measure the effectiveness of communication efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement internal communication strategies that align with company goals.
  • Create and distribute high-quality content including newsletters, articles, and presentations.
  • Support leadership communication by developing strategies and materials for company leaders.
  • Plan and execute initiatives to enhance employee engagement through effective communication.
  • Establish feedback mechanisms to assess communication effectiveness and identify improvement areas.
  • Coordinate and support internal events such as town halls and employee meetings.
  • Ensure all internal communications are consistent with the company's brand and values.
  • Track and report on the effectiveness of internal communication efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in internal communications or a similar role.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Proven experience working with senior leaders and managing executive communications.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative communication solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with communication tools and platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with graphic design and video production.
  • Knowledge of digital communication tools and platforms, such as intranets and social media.
  • Experience in change management communications.
