About the position

The Lead, Inventory Operations at Click Bond Inc. is a pivotal role that involves leading the Material Handler team and leveraging advanced knowledge and experience in inventory operations procedures. This position is responsible for developing protocols and standards for Material Handler personnel, ensuring that orders are issued and filled efficiently and with high quality, all while adhering to established procedures and practicing safe work habits. The Lead will direct the team in issuing orders, pulling parts, and replenishing work centers based on due dates and customer requirements. This role requires a thorough understanding of customer, work center, and planning requirements to create effective work instructions. In addition to overseeing daily operations, the Lead will monitor and maintain inventory levels of stockroom supplies and boxing materials. They will also be responsible for troubleshooting basic technical challenges and continuously improving the management and flow of materials. Keeping the supervisor informed about work status, issues, and progress related to assignments is crucial. The Lead will facilitate training for Material Handlers and assist in the staff selection and interview process. They will also collaborate with the Supervisor of Inventory Control to develop, write, and enhance work instructions, ensuring that processed work orders are accurate and complete. The role requires a proactive approach to safety, with the Lead expected to report any suspicious or hazardous conditions immediately. Maintaining a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work area is essential. The Lead must be able to work independently, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and be a self-starter. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, and the Lead is expected to embody the key attributes of Click Bond, including respectful communication, a positive attitude, active listening, and a commitment to executing tasks efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Material Handler team and develop protocols and standards for personnel.
  • Direct team to issue orders, pull parts, and replenish work centers based on due dates and customer requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of stockroom supplies and boxing materials.
  • Troubleshoot basic technical challenges and resolve issues as needed.
  • Continuously improve the management and flow of materials.
  • Keep supervisor informed of work status, issues, and progress related to assignments.
  • Facilitate training for Material Handlers and assist in the staff selection/interview process.
  • Inspect processed work orders for accuracy, completeness, and condition.
  • Conduct end-of-day routines to ensure orders are moved to the next work center.
  • Report suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
  • Maintain clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • At least 5 years of experience in inventory, warehousing, or distribution center environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of inventory or warehousing systems and best practices.
  • Competent in inventory operations procedures including lot traceability, FIFO, FOD, and cycle counting.
  • Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to read and write in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Lean and Continuous Improvement principles.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and be detail-oriented.
