About the position

Join the Weisiger Group Team as a Lead IT Business Analyst, where you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between technology and business needs. In this position, you will work closely with applications teams, other Business Analysts, and key business stakeholders to develop strategic roadmaps and document detailed business and technical requirements. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining key metrics, managing RFP processes, and fostering vendor relationships for new systems and enhancements. In this role, you will identify opportunities to leverage various technologies across ERP back-office systems, sales, service, rental, and parts. Staying abreast of evolving application trends and new technologies will be crucial, as you will work closely with the Director of Cat Applications and collaborate with Solutions Architecture and Digital Platforms development teams. Your responsibilities will include understanding business and data requirements, translating them into functional requirements, and ensuring that technology solutions meet enterprise needs, expected delivery dates, and quality standards. You will also be responsible for developing design solutions, creating test scenarios, and ensuring successful integration into the overall application architecture. As a Lead IT Business Analyst, you will contribute to story refinement and defining requirements, while also mentoring other Business Analysts on the team. Your role will involve significant communication within the Business Technology team and across stakeholder groups to maintain alignment and achieve project goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop roadmaps and application product technology plans for overall solutions in collaboration with Business and Vendor Partners, and BT Solutions Dev teams.
  • Translate business requirements into feature maps, use cases, and requirements for development teams.
  • Build relationships with OEM Teams to understand specific OEM roadmaps, product offerings, and technology capabilities/architectures.
  • Provide input to OEM's, software providers, and customers regarding joint initiatives alongside Weisiger product owners.
  • Support the creation and execution of new features, including justifying the business case, requirements gathering, technical analysis, story creation, and delivery communication.
  • Identify technical feasibility of requirements while identifying gaps and raising issues accordingly.
  • Lead the BA function within the Cat Apps team to set governance, frameworks, standard processes, and templates to be leveraged across the team.
  • Mentor other BAs on the team and assist with short-term and long-term project planning, including annual prioritization of project efforts across the business.
  • Communicate effectively within the BT team and across stakeholder groups to achieve and maintain alignment.
  • Own test creation, execution, and sign-off from business product owners for User Acceptance Testing.
  • Coordinate Tech Support from BT applications perspective post go-live.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in business analyst functions in a technical or applications context.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Certified SAFe Product Owner or Business Analyst (or equivalent).
  • Experience capturing customer/user requirements, crafting roadmaps, business cases, and formal business requirements documents (BRDs).
  • Experience serving as a business analyst on medium and large-scale projects including post-implementation support.
  • Experience facilitating requirements gathering sessions with customers, users, internal teams, and business partners.
  • Experience with ERP platforms, warehouse systems, e-commerce solutions, and financial systems in both on-premise and cloud technologies.
  • Experience implementing 3rd party solutions and working with vendors for solution design, integration, and ongoing support.
  • Strong technical acuity and aptitude with the ability to deal with ambiguity and integrate complex pieces into a cohesive plan.
  • Experience applying concepts and techniques from various agile approaches.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with JIRA, Salesforce, and Confluence applications is preferred.
  • Experience with legacy midrange or mainframe systems and applications preferred.
  • Azure and/or AWS certifications related to cloud applications solutions preferred.
