About the position

The Lead IT Business Analyst at Smith & Nephew, Inc. in Memphis, TN, plays a crucial role in collaborating with functional leaders and product owners to define, justify, and deliver IT services that align with the company's strategic goals. The Lead IT Business Analyst will contribute to the development of roadmaps that address both long-term and short-term capability needs, ensuring that the IT services provided are effective and efficient. In this role, the analyst will conduct thorough analyses of business or systems processes to identify areas for improvement, calculating cost and benefit data to support decision-making. They will be responsible for documenting testable business requirements and liaising with customers, end users, and the Information Technology team to ensure that all requirements are accurately captured and addressed. The position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality results that meet the needs of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, particularly Oracle and SAP, and will have experience in Global Supply Chain, Order Management, or Finance. They will also be skilled in analytics, capable of providing process flow documentation, metrics, and standard operating procedures for ERP workstreams. This role offers the flexibility of 100% telecommuting, with a willingness to travel up to 10% for workshops and site visits.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with functional leaders and product owners to define and deliver IT services.
  • Provide input to strategic direction and facilitate the collection of Customer Solution requirements.
  • Offer expert advice on industry trends and best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of roadmaps for Global Operations capability needs.
  • Conduct analysis on business or systems processes to identify improvements and calculate cost and benefit data.
  • Document testable business requirements and liaise with customers and IT teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or Analytics.
  • 5 years of post-baccalaureate experience in IT Business Analysis or related role.
  • 5 years of experience with ERP software such as Oracle or SAP ERP.
  • Experience in Global Supply Chain, Order Management, or Finance ERP analytics.
  • 1 year of experience with Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Document Control applications for requirement gathering activities.
  • Knowledge of Regulatory Requirements and ERP system change recording.
  • Understanding of IT Quality Control and Standards for project documentation.
  • Experience with batch and serial number inventory management.
