About the position

The Lead, IT Project Manager at L3Harris Technologies is responsible for leading medium to large scale IT projects, including infrastructure, applications, and security initiatives. This role requires strong leadership and project management skills to guide teams towards successful project execution while adhering to strict deadlines and budgets. The IT Project Manager will utilize advanced project management methodologies and will be involved in all phases of project management from initiation to closing, ensuring quality control and effective communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop full-scale project plans, timelines, and communication documents to convey project expectations.
  • Direct and manage project development from initiation to closing, managing scope, time, cost, quality, resources, communications, risks, changes, and issues.
  • Deliver status reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations to stakeholders.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope and devise contingency plans for potential crises.
  • Oversee vendor management, including the development of Statements of Work and communication delivery.
  • Facilitate the Portfolio Management process to understand project priority, resourcing, and planning.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate project team members and contractors to take accountability for their work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 9 years of relevant IT project management experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of related IT project management experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of related IT project management experience.
  • 2+ years of experience utilizing PMI's Project Management Methodology, Software Development Lifecycle, and Agile/Scrum Framework.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP Certification in Project Management.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software, such as Microsoft Project and/or Project Online.
  • Experience in testing processes including use-case creation and tracking results.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
