About the position

The Lead IT Systems Analyst at Lumen is responsible for providing expert technical direction in troubleshooting client systems. This role involves designing, developing, modifying, debugging, and evaluating programs for various functional areas. The analyst will translate business requirements into system designs, manage software licensing, and lead complex data analysis projects to ensure compliance and optimize costs. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

Responsibilities

• Gather and understand business and user requirements in support of software purchases and software maintenance renewals
• Analyze vendors' software terms and conditions to determine alignment with business and user requirements
• Lead negotiation strategy discussions, when key licensing terms are involved
• Establish internal processes to regularly measure and document software license asset usage
• Lead complex data analysis and verification projects to ensure license compliance
• Manage large and complex license alignment efforts to conclusion
• Lead and participate in a matrixed team of global employees to meet business objectives
• Communicate with internal clients and vendor representatives
• Develop and improve best practices for achieving Software Asset Management objectives
• Apply industry's leading-edge concepts to internal approaches
• Lead group projects and decisions
• Participate in peer reviews of data analyses and process documentation
• Prepare executive summaries and actionable recommendations from detailed analyses

Requirements

• 8+ years professional experience with Bachelor's Degree
• 6+ years professional experience with Master's Degree
• Skilled at data analysis
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and external vendors
• Negotiation skills; demonstrated experience with multi-million dollar software transactions
• Requires minimal supervision to manage multiple priorities
• Experience with software licensing for desktop and other software from major industry vendors
• Experience with asset management and purchasing tools
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal talents; able to interact with and influence people from all disciplines
• Self-awareness of skills and awareness of organizational impacts
• Proven ability to represent and address IT-focused considerations during software asset management activities
