About the position

The Lead IT Systems Analyst at Lumen is responsible for providing expert technical direction in troubleshooting client systems. This role involves designing, developing, modifying, debugging, and evaluating programs for various functional areas. The analyst translates business requirements into system designs, manages software licensing, and leads complex data analysis projects to ensure compliance and optimize costs. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and effective communication with internal clients and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and understand business and user requirements in support of software purchases and maintenance renewals.
  • Analyze vendors' software terms and conditions to ensure alignment with business needs.
  • Lead negotiation strategy discussions for key licensing terms.
  • Establish internal processes to measure and document software license asset usage.
  • Lead complex data analysis projects to ensure license compliance and optimize pricing.
  • Manage large license alignment efforts to conclusion, ensuring compliance with contract rights.
  • Lead and participate in a matrixed team to meet business objectives.
  • Communicate with internal clients and vendor representatives.
  • Develop and improve best practices for Software Asset Management objectives.
  • Prepare executive summaries and actionable recommendations from analyses.

Requirements

  • 8+ years professional experience with Bachelor's Degree
  • 6+ years professional experience with Master's Degree
  • Skilled at data analysis
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and external vendors
  • Negotiation skills with experience in multi-million dollar software transactions
  • Requires minimal supervision to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with software licensing from major vendors (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe)
  • Experience with asset management and purchasing tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence and build relationships.
