About the position

The Lead ITAM Specialist is responsible for managing the asset management life cycle of IT hardware and software assets within the organization. This role focuses on institutionalizing best practices in IT Asset Management (ITAM), driving efficiencies, and representing ITAM objectives during strategic information systems functions. The specialist will identify cost-saving opportunities, oversee vendor negotiations, and ensure compliance with licensing agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement policies, processes, and procedures in support of ITAM objectives.
  • Identify and integrate ITAM processes with related processes within IS, including Cloud Orchestration System (ICOS), procurement, and contract management.
  • Lead ITAM team efforts during software vendor audits and coordinate vendor requirements within the IS organization.
  • Develop audit responses and corrective action plans for internal staff.
  • Negotiate final vendor settlements and develop standardized audit approaches.
  • Function as a subject matter expert on IS hardware and software licensing models.
  • Monitor software utilization to ensure compliance with vendor contract terms.
  • Work with Vendor Management and IS Procurement to resolve complex licensing issues.
  • Participate in budget development and management for IT assets.
  • Oversee IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) activities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a job-related field or 4 years of job-related work experience, or an Associate's degree with 2 years of job-related work experience.
  • 8 years of asset management, procurement, workstation support, or related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Asset Management policies and procedures.
  • In-depth understanding of hardware/software licensing and maintenance models.
  • Strong analytical, assessment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, planning, and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Extensive experience with IBM and BigFix Inventory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including SharePoint.
