About the position
The Lead Java Developer will play a crucial role in a data migration project, responsible for designing and implementing solutions to migrate data from one production database to another. This position requires a blend of leadership and technical skills, as the developer will work closely with the Architect to translate high-level designs into actionable user stories and code solutions. The role demands a hands-on approach to development while ensuring that the migration process is executed flawlessly during off-peak hours to avoid disruption in the production environment.
Responsibilities
- Migrate data from one production database to another.
- Design and implement solutions based on user stories and architectural designs.
- Collaborate with the Architect to refine designs and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Develop a 'Migration Engine' to orchestrate data migration across multiple tables and columns.
- Ensure that the migration process is executed during non-business hours to minimize impact on live databases.
Requirements
- Lead-level experience in Java development.
- Proficiency in Kafka and MySQL.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Experience with Spring, SpringBoot, and Spring Kafka.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
