About the position

The Lead Java Developer will play a crucial role in a new Financial Crimes squad, focusing on delivering high-scale processing solutions on a cloud-native platform. This position involves designing and building architecture solutions, assessing current implementations, and fostering a culture of quality and engineering excellence within an autonomous team. The role requires a strong emphasis on collaboration, coding, quality assurance, and DevSecOps practices, while continuously improving test coverage and production health.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, and build architecture solutions on a cloud-native platform for high-scale data processing.
  • Assess and research current platform implementations to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Foster a culture of quality and engineering excellence using appropriate standards and tools.
  • Collaborate within an autonomous team, owning all aspects of delivery including coding and DevSecOps.
  • Focus on improving test coverage, release velocity, and production health.
  • Work with global Agile teams to enhance engineering practices.
  • Exercise operational expertise targeting Engineering and DevOps excellence.
  • Continuously learn and grow skillsets to contribute to the team.
  • Maintain a security focus to safeguard customer assets.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Java Software Development experience.
  • 2+ years of Tech Lead experience.
  • Experience with event-driven technologies such as Kafka.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins.
  • Expertise in designing and building large-scale, cloud-native digital enterprise applications using micro-services and serverless architectures.
  • Experience with Cloud-native REST API development leveraging Java, Maven, Stash, SpringBoot, and OpenAPI standards.
  • Proven experience with querying enterprise databases using SQL.
  • Ownership of the entire secure SDLC and extensive experience with DevOps CI/CD practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with architects, engineers, and product teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with modern JavaScript web development (TypeScript, etc.)
