About the position

The Lead Java / MySQL Developer will be responsible for designing, implementing, deploying, and supporting new web-based applications and web services. This role focuses on server-side engineering, working with technologies such as Java, MySQL, and AWS, while ensuring high performance, security, and scalability of the systems. The position requires collaboration within a small, agile team to deliver quality solutions on time.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, deploy, and support new web-based applications and web services using Java, MySQL, and AWS.
• Define and implement REST Web Services for personal financial services.
• Execute end-to-end software development and deployment in an agile environment.
• Define and develop cloud-native distributed systems and container orchestration platforms using microservices and serverless architectures.
• Work on initiatives, integrations, and innovations to improve system performance and security.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expertise in Java, MySQL, Spring, Hibernate, and standard server-side software technologies.
• Experience with REST and API design.
• Familiarity with AWS Cloud Computing infrastructure and APIs.
• Understanding of secure application development best practices, such as OWASP.
• Experience in Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA / OOD) with design patterns.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Spring-batch.
• Knowledge of LINUX / UNIX and Shell Scripting.
• Familiarity with Weblogic, Struts, and EJB.
• Experience with Autosys.
