About the position

This position involves performing a variety of electrical work, including the construction, maintenance, and repair of systems for the utilization and distribution of electrical energy in industrial and commercial environments. The role emphasizes safety, adherence to the National Electric Code, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and equipment. Responsibilities

• Ensures a safe work environment.
• Plans layout, installs, and repairs electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and controls in an industrial or commercial environment.
• Responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and construction of industrial electrical equipment and systems.
• Reads and understands conduit drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Bends, cuts, threads, and installs conduit; installs and terminates wiring.
• Checks out and troubleshoots simple electric circuits and electrical devices and machinery.
• Uses and cares for tools and equipment commonly employed in industrial construction.
• Tests, troubleshoots, sets, and calibrates power distribution systems.
• Works with protective relaying and motor control circuits.
• Sets and coordinates over-current protective devices and sizes feeder circuits.
• Tests and installs backup gas and diesel generators.
• Informs supervisor of any incidents involving injury, spills, equipment malfunctions, and/or damage.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Six (6) years' experience as a journeyman electrician, combination of education and experience is required.
• OHSA 10 Certificate is required.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• NSTC Card is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Arctic experience is preferred.
• Oilfield experience is preferred.
