About the position

The Lead Landscape Technician at RaceTrac, Inc. is responsible for supervising a landscape team and ensuring the maintenance and appearance of multiple RaceTrac convenience stores in a designated region. This role involves hands-on landscaping duties, equipment maintenance, and communication with management regarding performance and operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Team Lead for the Landscape Technician.
• Serve as the primary driver of the crew vehicle.
• Act as the primary point of contact with the Regional Service Manager regarding daily/weekly performance and execution.
• Assist the Landscape Technician with repairs to equipment.
• Mow turf areas using a 50” or larger walk-behind mower with Sulky.
• String trim all turf areas not accessible to a walk-behind mower.
• Edge all curb, sidewalk, and driveway areas.
• Blow off all clippings and landscape debris from concrete areas.
• Pick up trash throughout the property.
• Trim trees, shrubs, plants, ivy, and ornamental grasses.
• Apply weed killer, pre and post-emergent, and fertilizer.
• Start-up, shutdown, and perform repairs on irrigation systems.
• Perform maintenance on equipment including changing mower blades, edger blades, and trimmer string, as well as changing oil, oil filters, air filters, and belts.
• Order supplies and maintain adequate stock levels of normal wear parts and chemicals.
• Ensure the protection of the facility and customers related to landscape maintenance work.

Requirements

• Ability to work from 6am through 7pm.
• Good driving record.
• 2+ years work experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of small engine maintenance.
