About the position

The Lead Machine Learning Engineer will play a crucial role in an agile team, focusing on designing and delivering advanced technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. This position involves executing software solutions across various business functions to support the firm's objectives, while also ensuring high-quality production code and maintaining algorithms. The engineer will be responsible for analyzing large data sets, identifying hidden problems, and contributing to a culture of diversity and inclusion within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Learn about and understand supported businesses to drive practical and successful solutions.
  • Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
  • Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets for continuous improvement.
  • Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events exploring new and emerging technologies.
  • Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Proficient in coding in one or more languages.
  • Advanced experience in Python and distributed computing frameworks such as PySpark.
  • Experience in setting up Machine Learning platform infrastructure and deploying to the cloud.
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning methods and MLOps, deploying and scaling ML and AI Models on Public cloud services.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud-based application development and infrastructure - EC2, EKS.
  • Experience in designing and building AWS data pipelines using Lambda, SQS, SNS, Athena, Glue, EMR, S3.
  • Experience analyzing and evaluating the ongoing performance of developed models.
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment.
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Overall knowledge of the Model Development Life Cycle.
