About the position

As a Lead Machine Learning Engineer at Kforce Inc, you will play a pivotal role in the design and delivery of advanced technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. This position requires you to be a seasoned member of an agile team, where you will be responsible for executing critical technology solutions across various business functions to support the firm's objectives. You will need to immerse yourself in understanding the supported businesses to drive practical and successful solutions. Your role will involve not only the execution of software solutions but also the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of complex problems, ensuring that you think beyond conventional approaches to build innovative solutions. In this position, you will be tasked with creating secure and high-quality production code while maintaining algorithms that operate synchronously with the appropriate systems. You will produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring that design constraints are met through diligent software code development. Additionally, you will gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets, contributing to the continuous improvement of software applications and systems. Your proactive approach will help identify hidden problems and patterns in data, using these insights to enhance coding hygiene and system architecture. Moreover, you will contribute to the software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies, fostering a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect within the team.

Responsibilities

• Learn about and understand supported businesses to drive practical and successful solutions.
• Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
• Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
• Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets.
• Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Proficient in coding in one or more languages.
• Advanced experience in Python and distributed computing frameworks such as PySpark.
• Experience in setting up Machine Learning platform infrastructure and deploying to the cloud to develop and train machine learning models.
• Hands-on experience and solid understanding of machine learning methods and MLOps, deploying and scaling ML and AI Models on Public cloud services.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud-based application development and infrastructure - EC2, EKS.
• Experience in designing and building AWS data pipelines using Lambda, SQS, SNS, Athena, Glue, EMR, S3 to facilitate ML training.
• Experience analyzing and evaluating the ongoing performance of developed models.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Overall knowledge of the Model Development Life Cycle.
