About the position

As a Lead Machine Learning Engineer at RELX INC, you will play a pivotal role in developing innovative strategies for an automated data processing pipeline. This position requires a deep understanding of best practices for analyzing and auditing data, as well as the ability to create processes for ingesting, managing, and matching data in bulk. You will be responsible for managing a small team of engineers who will assist in processing the data and maintaining the data pipeline. Your expertise will be crucial in managing and monitoring various data feeds through the system, addressing issues as they arise, and ensuring the integrity and efficiency of the data processing operations. In this role, you will also be tasked with writing queries, functions, and ETL jobs to facilitate data processing. You will consult on feature design and implementation, ensuring consistent designs and implementations across multiple entity types. Additionally, you will set up, configure, and complete deployment jobs for the project, while performing capacity monitoring and engaging in both short and long-term capacity planning. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of data handling within the organization, enabling better decision-making and productivity for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative strategies for an automated data processing pipeline and best practices for analyzing and auditing data.
• Develop innovative strategies and processes for ingesting, managing, and matching data in bulk.
• Manage a small team of engineers to assist in processing the data and the data pipeline.
• Manage and monitor various data feeds through the system and handle issues as they arise.
• Write queries, functions, and ETL jobs.
• Consult on feature design and implementation to bring consistent designs and implementations across multiple entity types.
• Set up, configure, and complete deployment jobs for the project.
• Perform capacity monitoring and engage in short and long-term capacity planning.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience with AWS products.
• Intimate familiarity with EC2, Lambdas, and autoscaling.
• AWS Certification is a plus.
• Expert in machine learning techniques and presenting data findings.
• Expert Python programmer.
• Expert with query languages (MySQL, ElasticSearch).
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a similar field.
