About The Position

The Lead Maintenance Technician at The Summit Apartments is responsible for maintaining the functionality and condition of a 140-unit residential community. This role involves a variety of maintenance tasks including plumbing, HVAC troubleshooting and installations, and electrical work. The technician will oversee other maintenance personnel, communicate with the property manager, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Requirements

• 3-5 years in multi-family industry
• Proven experience as maintenance technician
• Strong working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, drywalling, painting, etc.
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
• Good physical condition and strength
• High school diploma or equivalent
• HVAC Certification

Responsibilities

• Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
• Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
• Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
• Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed
• Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
• Appliance repair & troubleshooting
• Conduct general upkeep procedures, pool maintenance, and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
• On call responsibilities as assigned by property manager
