About the position

The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance team, ensuring the effective execution of maintenance projects and processes. This role involves supervising team members, coordinating maintenance activities, and applying both electrical and mechanical knowledge to maintain and repair machinery and control equipment. The position also focuses on cost reduction initiatives and supports new product launches.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the maintenance team and coordinate daily tasks.
  • Inspect and check equipment for proper operating condition and make necessary adjustments.
  • Work with outside contractors for troubleshooting procedures.
  • Understand and apply PLC programming and operation.
  • Perform miscellaneous maintenance duties as required.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, and technical orders.
  • Align, fit, and assemble component parts using hand and power tools.
  • Operate metalworking machines to fabricate necessary components.
  • Repair, rework, and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies and systems.
  • Prepare parts sketches and write work orders.
  • Analyze test results and modify equipment to meet specifications.
  • Confer with engineers to implement operating procedures and resolve malfunctions.
  • Conduct research to test and analyze equipment performance.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment.
  • Assist with managing the GMMS system for maintenance planning.
  • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions and maintain system logs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance.
  • Experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Strong experience with installation and maintenance of industrial plant systems and equipment.
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience in a maintenance team environment.
  • Broad knowledge of controls and mechanisms.
  • Knowledge in PLC programming and troubleshooting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in a technical field is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with robot programming and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain working knowledge of state-of-the-art tools or software.
