About the position

The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will play a pivotal role in supporting the manufacturing development of classified component manufacturing techniques specifically for Coatings, Non-Conventional Machining, Composites, and Light Assembly work associated with Next Generation engine programs. This position requires a deep integration of processes that align with business needs across the organization, while also managing complex issues within the functional areas of expertise. The role involves long-term planning and strategic development to ensure that manufacturing processes are not only efficient but also innovative and compliant with industry standards. In this capacity, the Lead Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and refine manufacturing processes for classified hardware. This includes leading projects that have critical business impacts, providing technical direction, and ensuring that all engineering practices adhere to the highest standards of quality and safety. The engineer will also be responsible for designing and developing tooling concepts that facilitate efficient manufacturing operations. Additionally, the Lead Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical guidance and mentorship to new engineers within the function, fostering a culture of learning and development. A key aspect of this role is to drive rigor in the documentation of projects and lessons learned, ensuring that knowledge is captured and shared across the organization. The engineer will analyze data using quality tools to make informed recommendations and will be tasked with protecting the Intellectual Property rights of the company, ensuring that all innovations and processes are safeguarded against unauthorized use.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the development of manufacturing processes for classified hardware.
  • Lead and provide technical direction to projects with critical business impact.
  • Design and develop tooling concepts.
  • Provide technical guidance, direction, and mentorship to new engineers in function.
  • Drive rigor for documentation of projects and lessons learned.
  • Make recommendations after analysis of the data using quality tools.
  • Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Science, Chemical or related program + Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • OR a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Science, Chemical, etc.
  • Must be a US Citizen without Dual Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.

  • Experience operating within Quality Systems (Ex: AS9100, NADCAP).
  • Skilled in the use of CAD modeling software (Unigraphics preferred).
