About the position

The Lead Marketing and Proposal Specialist at CDM Smith is a strategic role focused on leading complex project pursuits in the transportation sector. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to create compelling proposals and marketing materials, ensuring alignment with the company's mission and client needs. The specialist will also be responsible for maintaining marketing materials and promoting the firm's marketing efforts at regional and national conferences.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead strategist during the presell stage on large, highly complex project pursuits (>$10M).
• Provide and facilitate writing and editing for complex proposals, presentations, and marketing materials for transportation clients.
• Develop clear, concise, and compelling content for proposals and presentations.
• Facilitate brainstorming, storyboarding, and strategy development sessions.
• Utilize a theme-based approach in proposal and presentation development.
• Partner with senior staff to develop strategies for marketing opportunities and events.
• Update CDM Smith marketing materials, ensuring they are maintained and up to date.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• 8 years of related experience.
• Ability to lead and motivate pursuit teams.
• Experience in proposal development in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction industry, specifically in transportation.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign, MS Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Writing, Communications, or a related degree.
• Large pursuit and strategic business development planning experience.
• Experience facilitating strategy sessions with technical and non-technical members.
• Demonstrated experience in developing theme-based messaging.
