About the position

The Lead Marketing and Proposal Specialist at CDM Smith plays a crucial role in the Transportation Group by leading strategic marketing efforts and proposal development for large-scale projects. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to create compelling content and marketing materials, ensuring alignment with the company's mission and client needs. The specialist will also be responsible for maintaining marketing materials and promoting the firm's marketing efforts at regional and national conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead strategist during the presell stage on large, highly complex project pursuits (>$10M).
  • Provide and facilitate the writing and editing for complex and strategic proposals, presentations, and related marketing materials.
  • Apply exceptional writing, editing, and creative abilities to develop clear, concise, and compelling content.
  • Facilitate and participate in brainstorming, storyboarding, and strategy development sessions.
  • Utilize a theme-based approach in proposal and presentation development.
  • Partner with senior staff to develop strategies for marketing opportunities and events.
  • Update CDM Smith marketing materials, ensuring they are maintained and up to date.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 8 years of related experience.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and sustain pursuit team engagement.
  • Experience facilitating strategy/brainstorming sessions with diverse team members.
  • Exceptional writing/editing/proofreading skills.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines and assignments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Writing, Communications, or a related degree.
  • Large pursuit and strategic business development planning experience.
  • Proposal development experience in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction industry, specifically in the transportation market.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing theme-based messaging that highlights differentiators and solutions.
  • Previous experience using MS Teams, SharePoint Excel, Qlik, Mural, and/or Salesforce.
