About the position

The Lead Marketing & Proposal Specialist will play a crucial role in the Transportation Group at CDM Smith, focusing on large and complex project pursuits exceeding $10 million. This position involves strategic leadership during the presell stage, collaborating with various stakeholders to create compelling proposals and marketing materials tailored for transportation clients. The specialist will utilize exceptional writing and creative skills to develop clear and engaging content, while also managing the overall marketing strategy for significant pursuits and events.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead strategist during the presell stage on large, complex project pursuits.
• Provide and facilitate writing and editing for complex proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.
• Apply exceptional writing, editing, and creative abilities to develop compelling content.
• Facilitate brainstorming and strategy development sessions with team members.
• Utilize a theme-based approach in proposal and presentation development.
• Partner with senior staff to develop strategies for conferences and marketing opportunities.
• Update and maintain marketing materials, including resumes and project descriptions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• 8 years of related experience.
• Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally as required.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Writing, Communications, or a related field.
• Experience in large pursuit and strategic business development planning.
• Proposal development experience in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction industry, specifically in transportation.
• Ability to lead and motivate pursuit teams over long-term projects.
• Experience facilitating strategy sessions with diverse team members.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
