About the position

The Lead Marketing and Proposal Specialist at CDM Smith plays a crucial role in the Transportation Group by leading strategic marketing efforts and proposal development for large, complex projects. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to create compelling content and marketing materials, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and client needs. The specialist will also be responsible for maintaining marketing materials and promoting the firm's marketing efforts at regional and national conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead strategist during the presell stage on large, highly complex project pursuits (>$10M).
  • Provide and facilitate writing and editing for complex proposals, presentations, and related marketing materials.
  • Develop clear, concise, and compelling content for proposals and presentations using exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Participate in brainstorming, storyboarding, and strategy development sessions to apply creativity and strategic insight.
  • Partner with senior staff to develop strategies for regional and national conferences and other marketing opportunities.
  • Update CDM Smith marketing materials, including resumes and project descriptions, ensuring they are maintained and up to date.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 8 years of related experience.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and sustain pursuit team engagement.
  • Experience facilitating strategy sessions with technical and non-technical members.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign, MS Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Writing, Communications, or a related degree.
  • Large pursuit and strategic business development planning experience.
  • Proposal development experience in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction industry, specifically in the transportation market.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing theme-based messaging that highlights differentiators and solutions.
  • Previous experience using MS Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Qlik, Mural, and/or Salesforce.
