About the position

The Lead Marketing and Proposal Specialist at CDM Smith plays a crucial role in the Transportation Group by leading strategic marketing efforts and proposal development for large, complex projects. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to create compelling content and marketing materials, ensuring alignment with the company's mission and client needs. The specialist will also be responsible for maintaining marketing materials and promoting the firm's marketing efforts at regional and national conferences.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead strategist during the presell stage on large, complex project pursuits (>$10M).
• Provide and facilitate writing and editing for complex proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.
• Develop clear, concise, and compelling content for proposals and presentations.
• Facilitate brainstorming and strategy development sessions with team members.
• Utilize a theme-based approach in proposal and presentation development.
• Partner with senior staff to develop strategies for marketing opportunities and events.
• Update and maintain CDM Smith marketing materials, including resumes and project descriptions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• 8 years of related experience.
• Ability to lead and motivate pursuit teams.
• Experience in proposal development in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction industry, particularly in transportation.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines and assignments.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Writing, Communications, or a related field.
• Experience in large pursuit and strategic business development planning.
• Experience facilitating strategy sessions with technical and non-technical members.
• Demonstrated experience in developing theme-based messaging.
