About the position

The Lead Marketing & Proposal Specialist will play a crucial role in the Transportation Group at CDM Smith, focusing on leading strategic marketing efforts and proposal development for large, complex projects in the transportation sector. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to create compelling proposals and presentations, ensuring alignment with the company's marketing strategies and client needs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead strategist during the presell stage on large, complex project pursuits (>$10M).
• Provide and facilitate writing and editing for complex proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.
• Apply exceptional writing, editing, and creative abilities to develop clear and compelling content.
• Facilitate brainstorming and strategy development sessions with team members.
• Utilize a theme-based approach in proposal and presentation development.
• Partner with senior staff to develop strategies for conferences and marketing opportunities.
• Update marketing materials, including resumes and project descriptions, ensuring they are current.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• 8 years of related experience.
• Ability to lead and motivate pursuit teams over long-term projects.
• Experience in proposal development in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction industry, particularly in transportation.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines and assignments.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Writing, Communications, or a related field.
• Experience facilitating strategy sessions with technical and non-technical members.
• Demonstrated experience in developing theme-based messaging.
