About the position

The Lead Marketing and Proposal Specialist at CDM Smith plays a crucial role in the Transportation Group by leading strategic marketing efforts and proposal development for large, complex projects. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to create compelling content and marketing materials, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and client needs. The specialist will also be responsible for maintaining marketing materials and promoting the firm's services at regional and national events.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead strategist during the presell stage on large, complex project pursuits (>$10M).
• Provide and facilitate writing and editing for complex proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.
• Develop clear, concise, and compelling content for proposals and presentations.
• Participate in brainstorming, storyboarding, and strategy development sessions.
• Partner with senior staff to develop strategies for conferences and marketing opportunities.
• Update marketing materials, including resumes and project descriptions, ensuring they are current.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• 8 years of related experience.
• Ability to lead and motivate pursuit teams over long-term projects.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Experience in proposal development in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction industry, particularly in transportation.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Writing, Communications, or a related field.
• Experience in large pursuit and strategic business development planning.
• Experience facilitating strategy sessions with technical and non-technical members.
• Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with MS Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Qlik, Mural, and/or Salesforce.
