About the position

The Lead Material Handler at TRIGO Global Quality Solutions is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily material handling operations within the production facility. This role ensures the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of materials to support production schedules while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. The position requires strong leadership and communication skills to guide a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an impartial third party between the production source and the customer facility to ensure product quality.
  • Assist warehouse employees with receiving, picking, and shipping materials as needed.
  • Collect and analyze daily workload for repack and productivity requirements.
  • Move materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas.
  • Identify and label materials, recording their locations in the warehouse to maintain inventory.
  • Prepare finished products for shipment by pulling, packing, and loading them.
  • Operate trucks, forklifts, cranes, and other equipment to move freight.
  • Perform and report cycle counts and comply with warehouse safety rules.
  • Manage and lead a team of Material Handlers, assigning tasks and providing guidance.
  • Monitor team performance, identify training needs, and implement development plans.
  • Communicate personnel issues or possible employee disciplinary actions with the Operations manager.
  • Motivate team and measure performance through productivity KPIs.
  • Report process or tool issues and equipment problems to the Operations manager.
  • Ensure daily completion of OSD Reports and related documentation.
  • Maintain and update work instructions, ensuring standard practices are followed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional technical college or metrology training preferred.
  • Proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in warehousing and logistics operations preferred.
  • Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and initiative in recognizing needs.
  • Good mathematical skills and ability to handle sensitive and confidential material.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, with bending, kneeling, and prolonged standing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience operating powered industrial trucks (OSHA certification preferred).
  • Demonstrated competency in operating power and hand tools.
