About the position

The Lead Materials Coordinator at The Hiller Companies, LLC is responsible for overseeing inventory management, logistics, and customer support related to fire protection equipment. This role ensures efficient processing, storage, and distribution of fire extinguishers and related equipment while serving as the primary point of contact for internal teams and Search & Rescue (S&R) customers. The position requires strong leadership and communication skills to manage warehouse operations and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage warehouse operations for fire protection equipment, including receiving, inventory management, organization, and shipping.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for S&R customers, internal sales teams, and field technicians.
  • Organize and categorize inventory by specific job requirements and customer orders.
  • Conduct daily inventory audits and reconciliation, maintaining thorough records.
  • Manage receiving processes, including inspection of incoming shipments and quality control checks.
  • Coordinate logistics for equipment distribution, ensuring timely delivery to customers and job sites.
  • Adhere to safety protocols for handling and storing specialized fire protection equipment.
  • Handle complex customer inquiries and provide technical support for S&R teams.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and preparation for field readiness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field preferred.
  • Valid forklift certification and warehouse safety certifications required.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in material management, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in materials coordination, procurement, or inventory management.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing strategic procurement and inventory optimization strategies.
  • Advanced proficiency in inventory management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hazardous materials handling certification preferred.
  • Extensive background in fire protection equipment or specialized industrial inventory management preferred.
