About the position
The position is responsible for assisting in the management of daily operations within a retail store department, ensuring that associates are trained, the department is fully staffed, and that all operations meet company standards and performance goals. The role involves inventory management, staff training, adherence to safety and food guidelines, and maintaining a clean and well-stocked department.
Responsibilities
- Order and maintain inventory in the department using inventory control procedures.
- Review and validate received orders for amount, quality, count or weight, and condition.
- Assist the Department Manager in managing a team for stocking, production, and quality assurance.
- Maintain familiarity with all products in the department and store.
- Communicate and execute the weekly and period Flight Plan to company expectations.
- Manage scheduling, labor control, and payroll expenses for the department.
- Implement and model core values and competencies of the company.
- Develop and monitor department forecasts as required.
- Participate in daily huddles and maintain a clean and attractive department.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and safety guidelines throughout the store.
- Develop and implement plans to meet company goals and key performance indicators.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Detail-oriented with basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, etc.).
