About the position

The Lead Med Tech at Dimensions Living Beaver Dam is responsible for providing routine daily nursing care to residents in accordance with established facility procedures. This role involves administering medications, personal care services, and ensuring the highest quality of service in a compassionate manner. The Lead Med Tech will work under the direction of licensed nursing staff and is expected to maintain a clean and safe environment for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Administers, prepares, orders, stores, controls, and charts medications according to established policies and procedures.
  • Performs resident treatments in accordance with policies and training received.
  • Documents all medication administered on the medication record accurately.
  • Ensures medication rooms and carts are locked at all times.
  • Maintains stock of medications, supplies, and equipment; records all supplies used for resident treatments.
  • Follows resident care/treatment plans and documents noted changes in residents' conditions.
  • Understands residents' charts, doctor's orders, and residents' plan of care.
  • Complies with long-term care federal and state laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Follows standard precautions and works within OSHA guidelines.
  • Ensures residents and families receive high-quality service in a caring manner.
  • Maintains a clean, safe environment for residents and staff.
  • Assists residents with activities of daily living (ADL) under the direction of a licensed nurse.
  • Follows all shift routines regarding vital signs, weights, bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Answers resident call lights promptly and supports team in answering call lights for unassigned residents.
  • Turns, lifts, positions, and transports residents safely according to care plan.
  • Assists residents in transferring using appropriate devices while maintaining safety.
  • Ensures residents are clean, neatly dressed, and well-groomed.
  • Changes bed linen and assists with restorative nursing programs.
  • Reports any changes in residents' conditions to the nurse promptly.
  • Recognizes potential skin problems and reports to the nurse as required.
  • Reports all incidents/accidents involving residents, co-workers, and visitors.
  • Delivers meals and assists residents with eating, recording food and fluid intake accurately.
  • Reports any chewing or swallowing difficulties to the nurse.
  • Reports equipment malfunctions to designated employees.
  • Attends and participates in scheduled nursing meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be CBRF certified - Med Pass.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Med Passing Experience within Senior Living.
