About the position
The Medical Assistant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day care and supervision of Medical Assistants in a clinical setting at the main hospital campus. This role involves providing direct professional medical care to patients while serving as a leader and role model for department members. The position emphasizes clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency within the Clinic 3 department.
Responsibilities
- Assist in all aspects of medical practice under the supervision of medical providers.
- Interview patients and measure vital signs including pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
- Draw and collect blood samples from patients and administer patient immunizations.
- Record or input information into patients' medical records.
- Observe and evaluate Medical Assistant competencies for new and existing staff.
- Coordinate with the Clinic Director to identify needs and recommend training.
- Monitor delivery of patient services for effectiveness, efficiency, and clinical excellence.
- Identify areas for improvement in clinic operations and develop alternative procedures or actions to resolve issues.
- Complete various special projects as assigned.
- Analyze back office procedures and provide recommendations based on clinic's professional objectives and activities.
- Promote and practice the policies and procedures of Grand River Clinics and Grand River Hospital District.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- CNA, LPN, or Certified/Registered Medical Assistant preferred.
- Must have current BLS card within 3 months of initial employment and maintain current status throughout employment.
- Working experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
