About the position

The Medical Assistant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day care and supervision of Medical Assistants in a clinical setting at the main hospital campus. This role involves providing direct professional medical care to patients while serving as a leader and role model for department members. The position emphasizes clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency within the Clinic 3 department.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in all aspects of medical practice under the supervision of medical providers.
  • Interview patients and measure vital signs including pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
  • Draw and collect blood samples from patients and administer patient immunizations.
  • Record or input information into patients' medical records.
  • Observe and evaluate Medical Assistant competencies for new and existing staff.
  • Coordinate with the Clinic Director to identify needs and recommend training.
  • Monitor delivery of patient services for effectiveness, efficiency, and clinical excellence.
  • Identify areas for improvement in clinic operations and develop alternative procedures or actions to resolve issues.
  • Complete various special projects as assigned.
  • Analyze back office procedures and provide recommendations based on clinic's professional objectives and activities.
  • Promote and practice the policies and procedures of Grand River Clinics and Grand River Hospital District.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • CNA, LPN, or Certified/Registered Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Must have current BLS card within 3 months of initial employment and maintain current status throughout employment.
  • Working experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
