About the position

The Lead MFG Assembly Technician will play a crucial role in the Project Kuiper initiative, which aims to enhance global broadband access through a constellation of satellites. This position involves driving continuous improvement initiatives, assembling mechanical and electrical satellite components, and ensuring quality and adherence to standards in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering teams to improve build efficiency and support the transition from research and development to production.

Responsibilities

  • Driving and developing departmental continuous improvement initiatives and support implementation.
  • Assemble mechanical and electrical satellite components, sub-assemblies, and integration assemblies in a Cleanroom and ESD control environment.
  • Lead process work and review output for quality and adherence to standards and procedures.
  • Facilitate daily team meetings, end-of-shift reporting, and coordinate efforts to minimize production interruptions.
  • Support new-hire training programs and develop training plans for the team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 4+ years relevant aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • 4+ years of hands-on work experience in Electro-Mechanical Assembly, Final Integration, and/or Harness Integration.
  • 4+ years experience in a fast-paced production environment with Flight Hardware.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with precision torque, measurement, and inspection devices.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1+ years prior leadership experience, including leading teams, projects, or people.
  • Experience bringing teams and processes from development to production.
  • Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) certification/license.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from engineering documentation and/or drawings.
  • Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware, and clean room requirements.
