About the position

As a Lead Mobile Building Engineer at CBRE, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of various facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to lead preventive maintenance and corrective repairs for buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment, and grounds. This position is integral to the Engineering and Technical Services job function, where you will provide essential support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of equipment and systems. In this role, you will oversee maintenance and repairs to mechanical, industrial, plumbing, structural, life safety, and control systems within the facility. Your leadership will ensure that all systems are maintained to applicable standards. You will also be responsible for inspecting the work performed by outside contractors, providing assessments of vendor recommendations, and confirming the completion of their work. Acting as the point of contact for outside contractors and technicians, you will assist team members or contractors on various projects or equipment installations. Your hands-on responsibilities will include performing HVAC/mechanical repairs, plumbing, interior lighting, general carpentry, general electrical work, minor drywall repairs, and general maintenance tasks. You will review assigned work orders, estimate the time and materials needed for repairs, and maintain an adequate inventory of supplies and tools. Additionally, you will oversee the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life, while also managing repairs and emergency maintenance as needed. You will conduct inspections of building and industrial systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure that equipment operates within design capabilities and meets the environmental conditions prescribed by the client. Compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and work safety will be a key aspect of your role. You will operate company-issued vehicles as part of your daily responsibilities and apply your in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions. As a leader, you will coach others, share your knowledge, and model behaviors consistent with CBRE's RISE values, working to build consensus and impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience.
  • Universal CFC certification and valid driver's license required.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Sophisticated math skills to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages and fractions.
