About the position

The Lead Montessori Elementary Guide at C'E Montessori is a full-time role focused on leading elementary students in accordance with Montessori educational principles. The position involves collaboration with teaching partners and school leadership to foster students' intellectual and social growth, while preparing them to transform their world. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to the Montessori philosophy and experience in an elementary classroom setting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare lessons using MRX (Montessori Records Express) following the Elementary Montessori Scope and Sequence.
  • Develop, review, and update curriculum and curriculum maps.
  • Be in attendance at school in accordance with the times set forth in the letter of agreement.
  • Be an Advisor to a designated group of students.
  • Maintain a 'prepared' environment in the classroom and other areas used for instruction.
  • Maintain student records with regard to attendance, achievement, and report-writing.
  • Prepare reports for parents in accordance with the established policies of C'E Montessori School.
  • Develop and implement whole class, small group and one-to-one age appropriate lessons that incorporate a range of learning approaches to both support and challenge diverse learners to reach their fullest potential.
  • Prepare for and participate in regular parent-teacher conferences as set forth on the school calendar.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled day and overnight trips with students.
  • Attend and participate in various evening meetings, such as the school picnic, the school musical, and the end of year Arts Festival.
  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled program level, faculty, and faculty and staff meetings.
  • Establish and maintain a positive and professional relationship with students, parents, and other teachers and school personnel.
  • Perform various reasonable tasks from time to time as requested by the Elementary Team Leader, and the Head of School.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or Early Childhood Development.
  • Montessori certification from an accredited program.
  • At least two years of experience in an elementary Montessori classroom.
  • Familiarity with Montessori materials and curriculum development.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and students.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A commitment to the Montessori philosophy and the education of young children.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Spanish language skills preferred.
