About the position

The Application Support Lead role at Voya is responsible for providing technical support and oversight for applications within their portfolio. This position ensures that services are delivered according to established standards and fosters collaboration between various teams including Application Maintenance, Development, Release Management, Infrastructure, and Architecture. The lead will manage day-to-day operations, resolve issues, and ensure system documentation is up-to-date while also guiding the development team in improving applications and IT processes.

Responsibilities

  • Govern the overall end-to-end delivery for a set of applications in partnership with AM management.
  • Act as the point of contact for communications with business partners regarding delivery issues.
  • Oversee the delivery of day-to-day online availability and execution of batch cycles.
  • Work with the business to resolve issues and complete requests.
  • Collaborate with the Incident Management team on high priority technical issues and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Ensure system documentation is current and complete.
  • Conduct reviews to ensure compliance with Voya standards in design, infrastructure, security, and documentation.
  • Review SLA reports and escalate delivery concerns to AM management.
  • Analyze system performance results and suggest improvements as needed.
  • Facilitate meetings with AM developer teams to review outstanding work and current assignments.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in design, coding, and testing of production fixes and enhancements.
  • Guide the team in identifying, documenting, and implementing improvements to applications and IT processes.
  • Ensure stability of the environment by reviewing upcoming changes and executing disaster recovery plans.
  • Coach new software developers in their application development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field.
  • Six years of complex software development experience including two years of leadership experience.
  • Proven ability in programming languages: .NET, C#, ASP.NET, and SQL.
  • Optional programming languages: Java, Informatica/ETL, COBOL, and MS Azure/Cloud Computing concepts.
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, XLD, SonarQube, Artifactory.
  • Familiarity with security vulnerability tools like Veracode and Snyk.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, Foglight.
  • Knowledge of databases including Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2.
  • Experience with ITSM Process Tools like Service Now.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proven ability in structured analysis and technical design techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to work in an onshore/offshore model and collaborate with geographically diverse team members.
