About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Network Engineer to oversee complex technical issues and initiatives related to large-scale network applications and data systems. This role involves leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure, particularly focusing on Business to Business (B2B) connectivity and ensuring compliance with security and regulatory policies. The engineer will also be responsible for troubleshooting, performance analysis, and recommending process improvements to enhance network efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the review, resolution, and implementation for complex technical issues related to network applications and data systems.
  • Use diagnostic and simulation tools to maintain, troubleshoot, and restore service or data to systems.
  • Evaluate queries to extract data and create standard procedures or perform limited programming to fine-tune systems.
  • Research performance trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Perform complex migrations from development to production, including upgrades, installations, and configurations.
  • Make decisions regarding security and regulatory policies to design and implement secure network solutions.
  • Assess changes for risk to production systems and ensure quality, security, and compliance requirements are met.
  • Identify gaps in current technology processes and recommend changes to support Service Level Agreements.
  • Collaborate with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Network Engineering experience or equivalent through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing LAN/WAN/Datacenter solutions for large enterprise environments.
  • 5+ years of experience with IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP, Static) in a large enterprise environment.
  • 5+ years of experience with configuration of routing and switching platforms, specifically Cisco Nexus and/or Arista product line.

Nice-to-haves

  • CCNA, CCNP/DP, or CCIE Certification preferred - Datacenter
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience with scripting languages such as YAML/Python/Ansible/GITHUB
  • Experience working in a Product/Agile environment utilizing Atlassian Jira products
  • Experience with Change control processes - Service Now
  • Excellent documentation and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Visio Professional
  • Experience with regulatory and auditor collaboration
