About the position

The Lead Night Stock position at SpartanNash is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the retail department in the absence of the department manager. This role ensures that associates are trained, the department is fully staffed, and operations meet company standards and performance goals. The Lead Night Stock will manage inventory, support team activities, and maintain compliance with food safety and operational guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day activities of the department operations in the absence of the department manager.
• Order and maintain inventory while utilizing inventory control procedures.
• Review and validate received orders for quality and condition.
• Manage a team to complete stocking, production, and additional tasks.
• Maintain familiarity with all products in the department and store.
• Communicate and execute the weekly and period Flight Plan to company expectations.
• Support the department manager in scheduling, labor control, and payroll expense management.
• Implement company core values and competencies.
• Assist in staffing, training, performance management, and career development of associates.
• Develop and monitor department goals and forecasts.
• Participate in daily huddles and manager meetings as required.
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked department following safety and food guidelines.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent (GED).
• 0-2 years of retail experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organization, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership abilities in a hands-on environment.
• Good knowledge of retail store operations and management systems.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable.
