Eaton's ES AMER NAS division is currently seeking a Lead OEM Outside Sales Engineer. This hybrid-based position requires candidates to live within 50 miles of the Salt Lake City, UT location, with relocation assistance available for successful applicants outside this area. The Lead OEM Sales Engineer will be responsible for marketing and selling Eaton's products to secure profitable orders, focusing on circuit protection, control, and distribution products typically found in the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) sector. The role involves understanding customer needs and applying Eaton's products to create effective solutions. The position entails managing an assigned geographic market and key customers, with a significant emphasis on new customer development, particularly in the Machinery OEM and E-OEM business sectors, as well as alternative energy OEMs. The Lead OEM Sales Engineer will develop, grow, and maintain relationships with OEM customers and Eaton employees, as well as Eaton authorized distributors. Key responsibilities include understanding OEM customer segments, applying technical knowledge for all products involved in the sales assignment, and comprehending project specifications and drawings. Building trust with customers and becoming a reliable source of information about Eaton's offerings is crucial. In this role, the Lead OEM Sales Engineer will develop and execute sales strategies to meet performance expectations, quote projects, negotiate pricing, prepare sales presentations, and build long-term relationships with key customers. They will also work with factories to resolve technical issues and assist the team in developing a coordinated sales effort while keeping management informed of market conditions. Ongoing training on both functional and technical skills is expected to ensure success in this position.
