About the position

As a Lead in Operations at VF Corporation, you will play a crucial role in the distribution center, specifically during the 2nd shift from Monday to Thursday, 4 PM to 2:30 AM. Under the general direction of the shift supervisor, you will be an active leader for employees, assisting in the execution of facility operations to meet production goals within your department. Your leadership will be vital in ensuring that the team meets operational objectives while adhering to safety and security procedures. In this position, you will lead, communicate, coach, and motivate individuals and the shift team to meet and exceed daily quality, efficiency, and organizational objectives. You will monitor and assist associates performing various duties related to warehousing, transportation, safety, and inventory functions in the warehouse. Success in this role is defined by your ability to follow all company safety, attendance, and security procedures, ensuring that the team reaches daily objectives effectively. The role requires a proactive approach to leadership, where you will need to provide direction and guidance to employees, ensuring that workflow is directed efficiently. You will also be responsible for maintaining a positive work environment that fosters collaboration and productivity among team members. Your ability to interact well with all levels of employees will be essential in achieving the operational goals set forth by the company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate the shift team to meet daily production goals.
  • Assist the supervisor in executing facility operations effectively.
  • Monitor associates performing various warehousing and inventory duties.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, attendance, and security procedures.
  • Provide direction and guidance to employees on workflow and tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years related production, warehouse, and/or distribution center experience.
  • Prior experience directing workflow preferred.
  • Ability to interact well with all levels of employees.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and effective at time management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal direction.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish preferred.
  • Computer knowledge and experience using RF scanners.
  • Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work overtime and on opposing shifts as assigned.
  • Ability to stand for the entire shift and walk around the warehouse.
