About the position

The Lead Orthodontic Assistant at Orthodontic Boutique of Connecticut plays a crucial role in supervising orthodontic assistants while also providing direct support in orthodontic procedures. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, managing patient interactions, and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the clinical environment. The role requires a blend of leadership, clinical expertise, and customer service skills to enhance the overall patient experience and support the orthodontic team.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and prioritize workflow of orthodontic assistants.
  • Assist orthodontist during orthodontic treatment procedures.
  • Manage escalated patient issues.
  • Maintain compliance with CDC, OSHA, Risk Management, and safety regulations and guidelines, including HIPAA privacy regulations.
  • Assume responsibility for the cleanliness of the clinical area and the dental equipment and instruments used through sterilizing and polishing dental instruments, oiling and cleaning equipment, and general cleaning of the orthodontic clinic.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Dental/Orthodontic Experience.
  • Orthodontic experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • 3+ years of knowledge of orthodontic terminology.
  • Customer Service orientation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use tact and sensitivity to timing in personal transactions.
  • Strong working knowledge of computer applications: word processing, patient management system, and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to interpret and comply with applicable regulations and guidelines, including HIPAA, CDC, and OSHA.
  • Certified Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) required.
  • Radiology certification required.
  • High school diploma or GED.
