About the position

The Little Green Church of Martindale, a non-denominational church established in 1903, is seeking a Lead Pastor who feels called by God to serve and lead the congregation in fulfilling the Great Commission. Located in the scenic central Texas region near San Marcos, Austin, and San Antonio, the church has a rich history and a commitment to community outreach, particularly through its weekly soup kitchen that serves 80-100 local citizens. This position comes at a pivotal time as the church seeks to revitalize its membership, which has decreased from 100-120 pre-Covid to approximately 80 members currently. The new Lead Pastor will be expected to inspire and grow the congregation, fostering a welcoming environment that embodies the teachings of Christ and the directive of Matthew 25:40, which emphasizes serving others as if they were serving Christ himself. The church is looking for a leader who can bring new life and vision to the ministry, especially as the current pastor retires after seven years of dedicated service. The ideal candidate will have a strong pastoral presence, a passion for discipleship, and the ability to engage with both the church community and the broader Martindale area. The Lead Pastor will be responsible for preaching, teaching, and providing spiritual guidance, as well as overseeing church programs and initiatives that align with the church's mission and values. This is a full-time, on-site position that requires a deep commitment to the church's mission and the ability to connect with a diverse congregation.
