About the position

The Lead Patient Account Representative Follow-Up at Cooper University Health Care is responsible for managing insurance verification and patient communication regarding financial responsibilities such as co-payments and deductibles. This role serves as the primary contact for assigned CBO Patient Account vendors and is focused on providing excellent customer service. The representative will follow up on and resolve active and bad debt account balances while interfacing with various levels of staff and management. Additionally, the position involves analyzing accounts receivable to identify issues and trends.

Responsibilities

  • Manage insurance verification and patient communication regarding co-payments and deductibles.
  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned CBO Patient Account vendors.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff.
  • Follow up and resolve active and bad debt account balances.
  • Interface with all levels of staff and management.
  • Analyze accounts receivable to identify issues and trends.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of billing/patient accounting experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to analyze data and perform mathematical calculations.
  • Knowledge of managed care insurances, ICD-9, and CPT coding.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
