About the position

The Lead Payroll Administrator at AgFirst Farm Credit Bank plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and maintaining the integrity of the Human Capital Management (HCM) system. This position involves collaboration with the payroll manager, providing training and support, and acting as a liaison between the HR Technical team and payroll operations. The Administrator is responsible for payroll compliance, tax updates, and general ledger reconciliations, ensuring that all processes align with federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert for payroll compliance with FLSA and other legislative mandates.
• Ensure HCM system compliance with child support, tax levies, and mandated garnishments.
• Apply Vertex compliance updates within Oracle HCM and manage ad hoc system updates.
• Update state unemployment tax rates within the Oracle application.
• Complete payroll controls, such as salary controls, semi-monthly and by HR/ICFR controls.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve tax issues in conjunction with the payroll manager.
• Act as liaison to the HR Technical team for functional business requirements and testing.
• Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations for AgFirst and its associations.
• Analyze general ledger entries, identify reconciling items, and execute corrective journal entries.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting desired.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Commitment to HR principles of confidentiality.
• Highly adaptable to change and ability to consistently meet deadlines.
