About The Position

The Lead Payroll Administrator plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and maintaining the integrity of the Human Capital Management (HCM) system. This position involves collaboration with the payroll manager, providing training and support, and acting as a liaison between the HR Technical team and payroll operations. The Administrator is responsible for payroll compliance, guidance, and training, ensuring that all processes align with federal and state regulations.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting desired.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, and analytical skills.
• Excel experience required.
• Commitment to HR principles of confidentiality.
• Highly adaptable to change and ability to consistently meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert for payroll and ensure system and pay compliance with FLSA and other legislative mandates and tax regulations.
• Ensure that the HCM System complies with requirements of any child support, tax levies, and any other federal or state mandated garnishment.
• Responsible for ensuring that Vertex compliance updates are applied within Oracle HCM and as needed with ad hoc Oracle system updates.
• Apply and/or update state unemployment tax rates within the Oracle application.
• Ensure that payroll controls, such as salary controls, are completed semi-monthly and by HR/ICFR controls.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve tax issues in conjunction with the payroll manager.
• Act as a liaison to the HR Technical team for functional business requirements and testing.
• Responsible for the monthly general ledger reconcilement for AgFirst, AgFirst associations, and Texas to ensure timely and accurate performance by HR/ICFR controls.
• Analyze general ledger entries, identify reconciling items, and ensure corrective journal entries are executed.
