About The Position

The Lead Person position at PSSI is responsible for providing direction to the sanitation crew within a designated area of the plant. This role involves training team members, ensuring compliance with sanitation procedures, and supporting the supervisor as needed. The position requires individuals to be at least 18 years old and entails working in various environmental conditions, including wet, hot, and cold settings, typically during the second or third shift.

Requirements

• 6 months to a year of experience in sanitation within the food processing industry.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with PSSI management, team members, customers, and regulatory agencies to ensure sanitation procedures are followed.
• Maintain open communications with all team members in the plant.
• Meet with the Supervisor regularly to address issues such as missing or damaged parts and equipment.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and workspace in a designated area of the plant.
• Ensure team members in the assigned area are completing job tasks to QA and USDA standards.
• Inspect equipment to ensure all areas are clean for pre-op inspections.
• Handle chemicals to ensure usage is within specified limits.
• Monitor and provide PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
