About the position

The Lead Physical Therapy Assistant will serve as an Industrial Injury Prevention Specialist and Regional Lead, focusing on reducing workplace injuries and promoting employee well-being through ergonomic assessments, body mechanics coaching, and deep tissue therapy. This part-time, contract role offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a significant impact on employee safety across various work environments.

Responsibilities

  • Guide employees on proper body mechanics and self-care techniques to prevent workplace injuries.
  • Collaborate with site management and safety teams to assess risks and implement injury prevention strategies.
  • Provide deep tissue therapy to enhance employee performance and well-being.
  • Maintain detailed records of work and progress utilizing DORN's systems and processes.
  • Gather feedback on the impact of services delivered through employee surveys.
  • Communicate with client site teams and DORN management to support injury prevention initiatives on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Monitor contractor performance in assigned regions to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Track contractors' hours worked and report findings to management.
  • Provide guidance to regional contractors, sharing best practices and coaching for success.
  • Organize training sessions to help contractors stay current on protocols and services.
  • Evaluate contractor performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports detailing regional performance, challenges, and solutions.
  • Address challenges faced by contractors or site personnel and work closely with site managers and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Licensed in your state as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).
  • 3-5 years of experience in injury prevention or a specialty field, preferably in an industrial setting.
  • Strong background in hands-on therapy and coaching in body mechanics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with detailed reporting.
  • Active professional liability insurance coverage upon hire.
  • Must meet drug screening standards and pass a background check.

Nice-to-haves

  • Interest in or experience with ergonomics is desired but not required.
  • Additional continuing education is beneficial.
  • Credentials such as Athletic Trainer (AT), Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), or Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) are valued.
