About the position

The Lead-Pickleball position at Life Time is a full-time role responsible for the overall management and leadership of the club's pickleball programming. This includes a variety of activities such as open play, clinics, mixers, leagues, tournaments, and special events. The Lead-Pickleball will play a crucial role in promoting pickleball offerings through member engagement and will handle various administrative tasks related to programming, including scheduling, billing, and communication. This position requires a partnership with Corporate Racquet Sports leaders to implement strategic changes to the program and enhance broader marketing efforts. Additionally, the Lead-Pickleball will be responsible for teaching revenue-generating on-court programs, ensuring that all activities are conducted in a safe, professional, and exciting manner. In this role, the Lead-Pickleball will develop, sell, and teach programs that not only generate revenue but also foster a sense of community among members. Interaction with members will extend beyond revenue-producing activities, as the Lead-Pickleball will engage in off-court program promotion, such as Open Play and introductory sessions for new players. This includes coordinating marketing materials and maintaining effective communication with members. The position also involves administrative oversight of the club's pickleball programming, which encompasses managing the scheduling of programs and completing billing tasks. The Lead-Pickleball may also supervise club pickleball staff, collaborating with the General Manager to scout and interview potential new team members, as well as ensuring that all staff complete their training and onboarding processes. This role requires a thorough knowledge of pickleball, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with members and team members alike. The Lead-Pickleball will be expected to work comfortably with all age groups and contribute to a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall management and leadership for club pickleball programming.
  • Develop, sell, and teach safe, professional, and exciting revenue-generating on-court programs.
  • Interact with members through non-revenue producing activities and off-court program promotion.
  • Provide administrative oversight of the club's pickleball programming, including managing scheduling and billing.
  • Supervise club pickleball staff and assist in the hiring and training process.
  • Partner with Corporate Racquet Sports leaders on strategic changes and marketing efforts.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of the game of pickleball.
  • Experience teaching pickleball.
  • Pickleball teaching certification required within six months of hire.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and positive attitude.
  • Experience planning and executing events.
  • Comfortable working with all age groups and building positive relationships.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • CPR and AED Certified.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice-to-haves

  • International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association (IPTPA) certification.
  • Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) certification.
  • United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) certification.
  • Experience with Life Time's internal scheduling software.
