About the position

The Lead Platform Engineer - DevOps/Networking at Capital One is responsible for creating and supporting DevOps tools with emerging technologies. This role involves driving transformation within the Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) team, which is crucial for establishing practices for building technology solutions across the company. The position focuses on providing enterprise solutions for network connectivity and ensuring security and compliance for all assets connected to the Capital One enterprise network.

Responsibilities

• Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios
• Continuously improve software engineering practices
• Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies
• Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience and scalability of your solutions
• Stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, and mentor other members of the engineering community
• Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization and diversity
• Utilize scripting languages like Python, SQL, Ruby and Groovy, Container Orchestration services including Docker and ECS, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
• At least 4 years of experience in DevOps Engineering
• At least 2 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree
• 5+ years of DevOps Engineering experience
• 3+ years of network infrastructure experience
• 3+ years of experience with coding and scripting (Python, Ansible, Bash)
• 2+ years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, Docker)
• 2+ years of experience with software defined networking control planes.
