About the position

The Lead Police Officer position within the U.S. Marine Corps involves supervising patrol shifts and providing law enforcement services. This role includes training and guiding police officers and Field Training Officers, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and maintaining the overall security of assigned areas. The Lead Police Officer is responsible for distributing workloads, preparing reports, and monitoring police activities to ensure effective law enforcement operations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise patrol shifts and assist the Watch Commander in law enforcement duties.
• Instruct Field Training Officers and police officers in specific tasks and techniques.
• Provide technical advice and guidance on law enforcement practices.
• Inspect physical security of areas and recommend corrective actions for deficiencies.
• Distribute and balance workloads among officers and ensure completion of tasks by shift end.
• Assist in planning and directing watch activities, including preparing reports and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with communication policies and monitor police vehicle dispatching.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and pass a National Agency Check and local background check.
• Must meet medical standards for police officers and maintain uniform appearance standards.
• Must possess a valid driver license and maintain a U.S. Government emergency vehicle operator's license.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age prior to start of employment.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and be subject to random testing.
• Must obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
